Ludine S. DeCelle, longtime former Alameda resident, passed away in Roseville, California on May 12, 2017 just weeks after turning 94. She was born in Morrell, Nebraska on April 4, 1923 and lived all over the western states until she married Robert (Bob) DeCelle and moved to Alameda. They were married for 54 years until his passing.

They were the proud parents of Karen Jacobsen (Frank), Robert (Bob) DeCelle II (diseased), April Carter (Bob), Walter DeCelle, and to the grandson they raised, Aaron DeCelle.

Ludine was a successful homemaker. She took great care of her home, beautiful yard, and family. She was in activities on Bay Farm Island, now called Harbor Bay Isle, and she and Bob often hosted Boy Scouts from Japan, and hosted national and international long distance runners through Bob's involvement in AAU now USATF. Many of those runners became Olympians. Ludine spent hours supporting her husband at track meets, the Alameda Track Club, and the Lake Tahoe Relay. She loved rooting for the runners!

Ludine belonged to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and actively served well in many capacities. So, in lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Humanitarian Fund of her church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' 3275 Cedar Ravine Road, Placerville CA 95667.

Ludine loved all and family and friends will miss her greatly.
